I still have a handful of my earliest oil paintings, but came to focus on other media for art, illustration and education, until recent years. It only took about 40 years to rediscover oil painting and I love it!

My first new painting was a self-portrait. I have painted many genres since then: still life, landscape and animal and wildlife scenes, pet portraits and whimsical creatures of imagination.

I’ve sold some paintings and hope to sell more, but ultimately, it is all about the art: whatever the subject, whatever the media. I enjoy making art. I don’t limit my identity to merely illustrator, or painter, or sketch artist or what have you. That is why I refer to myself simply as Ponder the Artist.
